Currently listening to some smooth Ray Brown. Man, I wish I was cool enough to be able to play Jazz. I have been going to the public library to study these past few weeks. As a kid, I used to hate going to the library. Sorry, I was no book worm like my sister. The memories I have are not pleasant ones. This one time, I remember I got a nose bleed because I was picking my nose. (I kid you not). My mom scolded me as she helped me on the large handicapped toilet. Another time I remember staring at the romance novels, wondering why they all look the same, these chapter books each of them the same length, same racy cover pages and my mom scolded me for looking at them.
The first time I stepped foot in the North Providence Library since I was very little, I realized a lot has changed and not much has changed. a couple of things I noticed: they now have a pet. I didn't really care to see what type of animal they fancied, perhaps a smelly ferret or guinea pig.
I had to register for a new library card because they've now combined all of the libraries in RI. Crazy stuff right? All the libraries in RI are connected. I think its great. Anyway, I also wandered on to the CD section where found some Norah Jones and Ray Brown and other jazz musicians (which I am currently listening to). I brought them home and put them into my iTunes. Is that illegal? Oh and things that stayed the same: the library makes me fall asleep at my books. So I have resorted to studying at home. Besides it is quite nice, no one is home except for me and poke and bean (sister's cats she brought home one spontaneous summer). My only responsibilities this afternoon: check on grandma to see if she takes all her meds at 2pm. and bring her dinner at 4pm. the rest of the time, is me and my books. (Unless of course I get side tracked with jazz music and blog writing.)

That is all for now.
If you haven't already, you should check out Melody Gardot for some jazz--you might like her, real chill.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'll be following in your footsteps soon--the studying in the library thing. The only problems with our lib is that they don't have wifi (they acted like that was such an extravagent request when I asked) and they'd probably look at me wierd if I tried to bring in a mug of coffee. Whatevs, research and GRE studies, here I come...
